Trabant Monument

The Trabant was one of the legendary cars that were developed and manufactured in the automobile city of Zwickau. Some three million of this model with its unmistakable two-stroke sound (hence the nickname ’Duroplastbomber’) were built.

The monument in honour of the Trabi was created by Zwickau artist Berthold Dietz and unveiled on the occasion of the 1998 international Trabi drivers’ rally.

In April 2015, it was moved from Georgenplatz to the August Horch Museum and is now located at a place of historic significance, the birthplace of the Trabant.
